We present the new Kerlink gateway: Wirnet iStation. The gateway is ideally suitable for work in applications operating in Smart Cities, Smart Energy, Smart Agricultures or Smart Industries.
Kerlink Wirnet iStation has a built-in LoR antenna inside the housing and a 4G modem with fallback function up to 2G / 3G. Optional Wirnet iStation allows you to connect external antennas.
Gateway Wirnet iStation is a fully functional access point working in the LoRaWAN standard. Depending on the version, it supports ISM bands worldwide.
Wirnet iStation offers full support for 8 LoRaWAN channels (125kHz, multi Spreading Factor) +1 RX channel (250 / 500kHz, mono Spreading Factor) + 1 channel RX / TX (FSK). The station, in accordance with the standard, provides two-way communication, the range of which is approx. 15 kilometres in undeveloped areas and approx. 4 kilometres in built-up areas.
Kerlink Wirnet iStation security features include software and hardware layer security mechanisms - SecureBoot (digitally signed firmware), SecureStorage (keys and certificates are stored in a dedicated, secured memory area - the so-called ProvenCore solution), the ability to run a secure connection to the server using OpenVPN mechanisms / IPsec, Watchdog and Recovery (in case of firmware corruption, the station automatically restores stable configuration and software).
Gateway Wirnet iStation has a housing with IP67 protection - the rear part of the casing is made of aluminium, the front part is made of polycarbonate. Inside the station you will find an ARM Cortex A9 processor, 256 MB RAM and 8 GB eMMC memory (6 GB available for user applications), built-in radio filters (improve station operation in LTE 800 / 900MHz bands), configurable transmission power from 5dBm to 27dBm . The station is also equipped with LBT (Listen Before Talk) mechanisms. The presented gateway offers the opportunity to work in a wide temperature range (-40 ° C + 60 ° C), dimensions of the Wirnet iStation station are 265 x 165 x 100 mm and weight is 1.4 kg.
The iStation also has unified Kerlink family software - iBTS (from version 4.0), iFemtocell (from version 4.0) stations and iStation are based on the same firmware and are configured in almost identical way thanks to the web interface. The software is based on GNU / Linux in the Yocto 2.4 and LTS kernel 4.14 distribution. The software has native language support (for user applications / scripts): Python2, C / C ++.
