In a world where every microwatt and every millimetre counts, the RV-3028-C8 from Micro Crystal sets new standards. If you are designing devices that need to operate for a long time, reliably and without interruption - you have just found the perfect solution.
The RV-3028-C8 has been specifically designed for miniature, mass-produced mobile devices. It contains a 32.768 kHz quartz resonator with CMOS oscillator and RTC circuitry in an ultra-compact 2.0 × 1.2 × 0.6 mm SMD ceramic housing. It operates in vacuum, in a hermetically sealed ceramic housing with a metal cover.
Current consumption is only 70nA (3V), an additional (automatically switched) input for battery power, has a function to recharge this battery when operating from the main power input.
The RV-3028-C8 offers full RTC functionality with programmable counters, alarm, configurable interrupts and a programmable clock output, as well as an input for external interrupts with time recording of their occurrence. The configuration contained in the EEPROM also includes timing compensation related to component ageing - which can be modified by the user. In addition, there are 43 bytes of EEPROM available for user use. In addition to the standard time format of year, month, day, hour, minute, second - a 32-bit timer in UNIX format is also available.
