Autonomous vehicles, such as AVG's forklifts, move safely through production and warehouse halls using Artificial Intelligence, which uses cameras and lidar to recognize the environment, including obstacles. We present Axiomtek's AIE900-XNX supporting NVIDIA Jeston Xavier NX AI technology, dedicated to working with cameras and lidar.
Driving fast according to Axiomtek
The AIE900-XNX is an ARM architecture computer dedicated to autonomous vehicles, which stands out from competing solutions supporting NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX, with ready-to-use interfaces for cameras and lidar.
The AIE900-XNX computer is a high-performance computer suited for AI in the context of high-speed image processing, so it can be used in autonomous vehicles such as AGVs, as well as for traffic monitoring, real-time license plate recognition, detection of hazards, traffic congestion, incidents or accidents, or shipment sorting and product quality control on belts feeder.
The platform features a powerful NVIDIA Carmel ARM v8.2 6-core processor supported by a 384-core GPU based on NVIDIA Volt architecture and 8GB of 128-bit LPDDDR4x RAM. This combination enabled up to 21 accelerated TOPS (Trillion Operations per Second) processes, a metric used in the AI industry to describe how many mathematical operations a chip can perform in one second.
Hawk-eyed AIE900-XNX
In designing the AIE900-XNX computer, Axiomtek partnered with oToBrite, a manufacturer of high-end cameras used in the automotive industry, as well as vision algorithms for AI and software for the ECU (Electronic Control Unit - the unit that records vehicle performance).
Lightning-fast 5G wireless connectivity
For high-speed wireless data transfer, essential for autonomous vehicles or real-time applications, the computer uses 5G technology, thanks to its M.2 connector expansion card capabilities.
In addition to interfacing with cameras and lidar, the AIE900-XNX provides efficient interaction with industrial automation devices or vehicle sensors/controllers, using two COM/CAN (RS-232/422/485) serial ports, as well as an 8-pin DIO (Digital Input/Output) connector. For user needs, Axiomtek's computer offers an HDMI port that plays 4K or 2K resolution video, as well as two high-speed USB 3.2 ports.
The AIE900-XNX computer is distinguished by its small size of 239 x 185.3 x 79.4 mm, which, at 3.45 kg, facilitates its application in an autonomous vehicle. A wide operating temperature range of -30°C to 60°C allows the unit to be used in outdoor applications.
