Microchip presents a Range of Embedded IoT Solutions for Rapid Prototyping, enabling Cloud Connectivity to All MCUs and MPUs

Microchip has added six additional solutions to its IoT portfolio, such as: PIC-IoT WA and AVR-IoT WA boards, gateway solutions running AWS IoT Greengrass, SAM-IoT WG, Azure IoT SAM MCU, PIC-BLE and AVR-BLE boards, LTE-M/NB-IoT development kit.

All of these solutions are designed to lower project costs and complexity in development. It makes their core, connectivity, security, development environment and debug capabilities easily accessible.

The company allows developers to connect to any larger ecosystem or cloud using Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. At the same time maintaining the security foundation by supporting a trusted platform from the CryptoAuthentication family. Starting from the smallest microcontrollers (PIC or AVR), through sensors and actuators, to the most advanced 32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors.

With Azure IoT services and Microchip's MPLAB X development tools, customers can connect IoT devices to the Microsoft Azure cloud.

Each solution has been designed with simplicity of use and rapid development for intelligent applications such as: industrial, medical, consumer, agricultural and retail. The wide selection of communication technologies, performance of the microcontroller and microprocessor means that these solutions can be used in many markets.

Development tools

Microchip's new IoT solutions have full programming support. This is the MPLAB X (IDE) environment, the MPLAB X Code Configurator (MCC). These tools automate and speed up writing and also customizing application code for the smallest microcontrollers (PIC and AVR). Harmony software libraries support all 32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors.

Programming and debugging functions are provided by the built-in PKOB Nano programmers or debuggers. They require a USB cable for power and communication. Larger projects are supported by universal programmers and debuggers- MPLAB PIC kit 4 and MPLAB ICD 4.
